29 December 2021
Wednesday

The middle of the week. "Hump Day." Looking forward to the weekend. It’s hard to believe the new year is nearly here. For the first time in many years I believe I’ll make resolutions. Even if only one or two take hold it will be worth it.

This morning as I pedaled to work on my electric bike I was running late...and I was also worrying. Mostly about finances. I used to worry a lot, not so much these days but still do from time to time. As I locked up my bike I looked up  and saw these birds. They were calming. So I watched them for a couple minutes. It reminded me of the below passage that I often return to and which has helped me greatly in the past.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
