Things That Can Be Carried On A Bike (#154)

Another bike.

One of the (many) unique features of the Mundo is that it has lower side rails that are great for carrying heavy objects, but even better at fitting the front tire of another bike, allowing you to tow it. I'm pretty sure that xtracycle offer this feature but I've never ridden one so I can't vouch for it entirely. Anyhow, I had to take my son's bike over to his Mom's house so we could ride home together and this was the best (and most fun) option.

I love the ability to tow another bike by Mundo. When I got it I thought it was something I'd rarely do, but I regularly tow a bike into town to meet a friend from the train station or pick up a parked bike which won't be returned to due to a change of plan.

I have been wondering how well two bikes could be towed without their proximity being a problem. I haven't had the need to try it yet.

Yes, I've done this a few times...it is a pretty cool way to get a bike around isn't it. In regards to carrying two bikes...I wonder if the rear derailleur would get in the way.
