A Building at Lunchtime...

Personally, it is my view that a church building is just that, a building (the real church are the people). In the same way I also believe that our creator is not an old white guy sitting on a cloud judging, but rather an indescribable and unexplainable energy that courses through every single thing there is—including you and I—and instead of being separate from this Source we and all things are forever connected to It and each other. And that the true actions of this Source are visible through our own actions, especially how we as humans treat not just each other but also our earth. But with these thoughts in mind, a beautiful church building—to me—can help direct my mind and heart to a proper place of inward thought. Today there were some thoughts that lay heavy on my heart and mind, and it is for this reason I spent part of my lunch break in the incredibly beautiful Saint Paul's Episcopal Cathedral (home of the Homeless Jesus statue) and sat in prayer and contemplation for just a few minutes. Just before leaving I captured this image.
