Five or Fourteen Quotes on the Golden Rule...

I find this amazing...that the Golden Rule (or the Original Truth), which of course is a blueprint on how we as humans should treat one another, is said across the board in every religion, faith, and non-faith. While the actual words that are said may change, these all still say the same thing...be nice to one another! This is so easy but also so difficult. Such a simple task but we still don't seem to grasp it, at least not entirely (I speak for myself here). Anyhow, this is by no means a a complete list--just a few that stood out to me--and they are in no particular order.

That was lovely. Although I'm not a vegan, or even a vegetarian (though I don't eat a meat-heavy diet) I loved the Jain quote. It is very important that we think of all creatures and act on their behalf. Didn't Saint Francis and the Buddha say the same?

Lagatta...thank you, and I'm not sure what they said regarding this, but i would imagine that both St. Francis and the Buddha were vegetarians if not vegans. I myself eat a very meat-light diet and go through periods where I don't eat any (not vegan as I still consume dairy, eggs, and cheese), but I haven't consumed actual meat in a couple months which is odd because I have to cook it for others on a daily basis.
