Slip Slidin' Away...
"You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away."
~Paul Simon
Here's a couple pics of two of my commutes today. The one above was taken as I left for my first job at 6:15am. It was snowing heavily. The photo below was taken about 3pm as I was leaving my first job for my second part-time job. It had snowed all day. Now here's the best part...two days ago I took off my studded snow tires. Yup. It has been such a mild winter and riding with them on dry pavement adds such a restraint to your ride it's as if someone is holding you back. I checked the 10-day forecast and it is going to be in the 30s and 40s for the next couple weeks. So I said, screw this, and put the slicks back on. It felt great, a nice smooth ride. But then it snowed, and snowed. The ride to work today was difficult to say the least. Two days from now it will be nearly 50F and this will melt; the main roads are already clear. What a strange and up-and-down winter this has been.
